Race Recap

Great meet day at Art Pahl. Officially joined the sub-5 minute mile club and our team did great (should’ve gotten first though) in the 4x8. I gotta say, I was kinda nervous though in the relay. 1st lap I saw the guy in front of me. He was MOVING. I conserved energy to make it to lap 2 and stay 1 second behind him. Lap 2: I was still having that gut feeling that he was really gonna smoke me. That wasn’t gonna happen. After lap 3 I decided to take a risk by moving up in front of him. I gained more energy from the hype that I was in front of him and from everyone else that was cheering me on (mom, @SeanMcAllister, @OtisNaito, @coach, @everyone else Ly) and finally secured the handoff to Justin. Ended up with a split PR time of 2:10.8. Managed to stay behind the Plainfield North kid in the mile, breaking 5 minutes for the first time. Overall a great race and I’m proud of what our group has become of.
